January 23, 2020 Charlotte

Did you know, around 2.8 million of us are in a choir in Britain? Why are so many people joining groups around the country? Uncertain times, mental health crisis, loneliness, an innate human need to create. There's a plethora of reasons people are flocking to choirs.

Thirty Before Thirty

November 11, 2019May 16, 2020 Charlotte

So this post has come around quicker than I expected. This summer, I turned the ripe ol' age of 29, and while I am still very much in my prime, it does get you thinking about things you've not done yet. I've been thinking about things I want to get done, so I thought I'd… Continue reading Thirty Before Thirty

Where We Went: Wingham Wildlife Park

August 14, 2019August 14, 2019 Charlotte

I thought I'd start a bit of a series writing about and reviewing some of the places I go with Rufus. Yesterday we spent the day at one of our favourite places; Wingham Wildlife Park!

Sunday; slow and simple. Feeling grateful for sunshine. 🌞
🌞 this looks idyllic but really he refused to walk, screamed at me while I carried him down a steep embankment of stones, threw one stone then screamed at me again and we left about 10 mins after we got there so if that’s your idea of idyllic then eat your heart out xo
“It is like any other snow, but from a different window, and there lies the singular charm of it.”
What a difference a (couple of) day makes. ❄️ R’s first snow day. We’ve been outside to play, now warming up with hot chocolate and waiting for more to fall!
Today felt hopeful. There was a tiny hint of spring in the air. It’s been a while since I felt that kind of promise. 💛
Running out of things to say about the world at the moment. So will probably be a little quiet here for a bit until I can find the words again. I miss humanity, art, wonder, adventure and normality. So I’m going to take a little step back and reevaluate and breathe. I think it’s what’s called a hiatus. Maybe it’s just space. Whatever it is, I’ll see you on the flip side ✌🏻

Day 4 of #marchmeetthemaker is ‘on your desk’. I don’t really work at a desk for my makes and you don’t want to see the state of my writing desk, so I thought I’d show you the latest thing to ‘come off my desk’ - finished R’s #WorldBookDay costume last night, featuring crocheted tiny sea snail and whale tail! Hello Rainbow was born from making things for him and I have so much fun sharing that with everyone else 💛
I am so bad at challenges. #marchmeetthemaker day 2&3... ‘Style’ and ‘beliefs and values’. Basically, if it’s fun or colourful - then it’s a bit of me! I believe in fun, in childhood, in magic, in imagination... all the good stuff. I also believe strongly in the power of kindness. I do not believe in my power to keep up with Instagram challenges - #useless...
Day 1 of my first #marchmeetthemaker and it’s brand! I’m by no means a global conglomerate, but it is pretty cool when you get little stickers with your little logo on them 😍 Hello Rainbow was born in lockdown 1, when I had taught myself to crochet and realised I loved it and was actually not bad at it! It’s also the name of my little blog (which has been a bit stagnant for a while - too much going on!), and the inspiration is my little rainbow Ru. He is every colour all in one; bold and bright and beautiful. 🌈
Had so much fun putting together something new for a custom order - a little cauliflower! One of my favourite french words - choufleur 🤍

Oh my gourd, it’s October next week. Not likely to go pumpkin picking this year are we? So crochet pumpkins will have to do! This is a little vintage pink number 👀 and these can be made in pretty much any colour you fancy!
Another little custom peanut for another teeny baby peanut 😍 sorry things have been quiet lately, new job and new routine has been hard! But it’s autumn now... and you know what that means... 🎃
